Minutes of the Bolton Tennis League Committee meeting held at 7pm on Wednesday, 18th March 2026 at Lostock Tennis Club.

Present: Messrs. Cashmore, Caswell, Maslivec, Pearson, Nuttall, Saunders, Taylor, Ms K Caldwell, S Francis.

Apologies for absence: Messrs. Al-Chalabi, Prince & Smith, Ms L Cartwright, Ms B Holmes, Ms J Holmes, Ms Morley, Ms Perry & Mrs V Browne.

Minutes of the last meeting: These had been circulated and were agreed after a small amendment to LTA Network.

Matters Arising: None

General Secretary: The remaining guarantee fees: The treasurer has provided DL Nautago with the info to pay from abroad. DL Chorley will now have to be invoiced, now that we know their set-up.

League Set-up: This was completed for the 4 leagues.

Calendar: We need to emphasise the earlier start times for the first two weeks for two court clubs with no floodlights. In addition, if David Lloyd Nauago has a home night on the bank holiday, they will need a very early start, as in the past they have closed at 9pm.

The Cecil Cup quarter-final was moved a week earlier to avoid Father’s Day.

Treasurer: Not much on a finance front. DL Bolton is now sorted.  Re Presentation Evening, I have asked for a price for pie and peas which we should hopefully have back to decide on the price for presentation tickets. It was decided to increase both senior and junior tickets by £1.

Winter League: The Winter League completed the second half of the season on 15th March. Only one match didn't get played due to a team getting a match start time wrong. Other than that all went smoothly, with huge thanks to Sue and Julie for their management of the two venues and the input of results. All teams bar two, pay match fees by BACS rather than by cheque now which makes the finance side a lot easier to manage, again thanks to Sue for keeping on top of this. The redesigned match cards are a lot simpler for teams to fill out, there is enough in reserve for the next season. The committee will meet in the very near future for a de-brief, and accounts will follow once the Arena and David Lloyd invoices are received and paid.

Tournament: There will be a small meeting with just a few of the Tournament Committee. It was agreed that an updated laptop with Windows 11 would be bought now that Windows 10 will be unsupported.

Presentation Evening: See treasurer's report. We need a presenter.

Dunlop: Balls are due around 8th or 9th April. Quality is still an issue which will be chased up.

LTA Network: There will be a meeting for club chairmen or their proxies. There will be a grant awarded to the one who is voted as having the best presentation.

AOB: Match Secretaries were asked for their back-to-backs as soon as possible.

Date and Time of Next Meeting: Collection of handbooks and payment of player fees - April 24th 2pm to 8pm at the General Secretary’s house. Next meeting Friday, 8th May at Lostock.
